“So what if I took seat number 008? It’s always been reserved for me by Dahlia.”
Dahlía, her mind a whirl of emotions after Regina’s speech, nodded in agreement, “Ms. Tanner, I’ve always reserved seat 008 for Nolan. It’s been that way forever.”
A blush crept across Regina’s face. “But I bought a ticket for seat 008, and then seat 007 was empty even after the show started. Doesn’t that mean he took my seat?”
Dahlia smiled gently. “You’re mistaken, Ms. Tanner. I never mix up the reserved seats.
You might have bought a scalped ticket, which is why there was a duplicate. Rest assured, I’ll double-check everything next time to prevent scalped tickets from hitting the market.”
Regina was at a loss for words, like a mute tasting bittersweet medicine. Why wouldn’t they check if there was a mistake with the reservation? Why assume she dealt with scalpers?
“I paid for my ticket fair and square, and my friend got it for me legitimately. I didn’t resort to scalpers just to save a few bucks.”
